One of the strange things about living in the world is that only now and then one is quite sure one is going to live for ever and ever and ever. (P. 161)

Amazing read, no wonder it’s a classic. Missed the target audience by a decade or so (ha!), but still found it engaging and very enjoyable.

My only problem was the way all the Yorkshire accents are written out (it’s one of my biggest pet peeves, if the story wasn’t so good it would’ve put me off for good). Other than that, the characters, children and adults alike, are lovable and charming, and Mary and Colin in particular I found to be really well fleshed out and realistic.
