Sisters of the Great War by Suzanne Feldman

4.0

I enjoyed the story for the most part. The major thing I didn’t like and what pulled me out of the story, was the passage of time in the book. Some chapters had a month and year at the top, which, at first, helped in keeping the pace of time. Then, the last 2 chapters of part one, there must be a typo because the previous chapter was 1916, and then these chapters were 1915. At first I just assumed it should have continued to be 1916. But then part 2 begins, and it says the year is 1918, but there was no way there was a 2 year time jump between the two parts. The story continues hours later, at most a day or two. Somewhere, there had to be a time jump, and then I was going back trying to find it. It completely pulled me out of the story. Between 1916 and 1918 in the book, there’s no clear passage of that much time, or where the time jump should be. But the story itself doesn’t follow that much time passing. I don’t know if this is just some typos in the kindle edition, or if that is how the book was written, but it annoyed me enough to not enjoy the rest of the story as much as I was at the beginning.
