While this is my least favourite of Lily Gold’s, this still had me quite emotional at times. I felt so bad for Daisy! I didn’t really think the relationship building between her and Cole was very unsatisfying and I have mixed feelings about how quickly the angst between her and Riven were, however this was a quick read. I did have to take a break because I was bored. I felt like I did a lot of skimming in the middle because we don’t really learn much about Daisy asides from her fear of men and her ex boyfriend. Also it skipped over how Sam went to Sweden to find her. I wanted there to be a confrontation of some kind before they went to court. But it was nice to see her resolve her angst with her parents. I personally hope they never make up lol .
I agree with another reviewer about feeling like all of her characters are so similar in their characterization. Although I get it, if it’s working it works. however i will say that i wish Gold will be more experimental in the future. I quickly found I loved her writing even though im not a huge RH fan and I dislike British English and in my Gold reading rush my My rating have decreased because of how similar they became. maybe if I hadn’t read them so quickly between the other I wouldn’t have cared as much but it’s fine.
