Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby

4.0

Two dead sons, a young daughter orphaned, two ex criminal fathers: one black and one white, searching for answers and justice. Initially the two fathers Buddy Lee and Ike seem to have little in common other than the murder of their sons and a criminal past, but their desire to avenge their sons brings them together; their wish to overcome their homophobia and accept their sons and the love they shared, and bring up their daughter without prejudice gives them a shared goal. Overall, this is a powerful story about love, relationships, and family. Such a shame that the catalyst allowing them to fully embrace their sons was their murder. Thay old adage- we never really appreciate what we have until it is gone. The audiobook version provided maximum impact.
