I enjoyed this book. I really did, it held my attention, the characters were deep and complex with enticing stories, the writing was amazing, the spice spicy.
I do have one complaint.
60% of this book is about how the FMC is in charge and badass and independent and capable and trained and elite and will eventually rule so on and so forth…and yet she was almost utterly useless. She never really fought, never really divulged her intelligent scheming ways, never took the crown. Literally all her bitching and bragging and competence—and for nothing. She had sorta sticky fingers and was sultry. That was disappointing.
Otherwise, a good read.
