Grandma Gatewood's Walk: The Inspiring Story of the Woman Who Saved the Appalachian Trail by Ben Montgomery
3.0
Is never heard of Emma Gatewood before this book was a recommended. She sounds like she was quite a woman.
The book was fairly interesting. I actually liked the part that came after she completed the trail almost better than the trail portion.
There were several really boring passages about basic American history that bog the books down. I skimmed past them after getting through the first a couple.
Worth a read, especially if you’re into hiking or the AT.
