The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
5.0
A beautiful coming of age novel that starts with 13 year old Theodore whom is in a terrorist attack at a museum with his mom. He took off with the goldfinch, but his mom did not make it out at all.
You go through Theo’s life with him while he experiences grief, anger, familial struggles, drug abuse, alcoholism, relationship building, the beauty of antiques and his guilt. A guilt and grief that many of us face in the time of death, what if I did this differently and they would still be alive? I can relate to this.
I’m sad that this is over and I am already ready to reread it.
