The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare

A Rare 4 M/F Stars

A surprisingly highly entertaining M/F historical with a much appreciated strong female protagonist who never once made me squint, scowl, or scoff. That is an amazing feat if I do say so myself!

Basically, this entire book is about how everyone in the Duke of Ashbury’s life lives to exasperate him to no end because he’s being an absolute twit for thinking his battle scars make him a monster and less than the man he truly is. Of course, it just takes slightly antagonistic stubborn Emma, who’s not afraid to ask-insist-demand what she wants out of their marriage of convenience and hammer home the fact that her new husband is wonderful, warts and all.

I would guess that this is the rare comedic historical, delivering up constant snorts, chuckles, and grins, while not shorting the reader on the feels or the sexy. The narration was equally delightful, and my only disappointment is that the sequel has yet to be published because in all honesty, I would have one-clicked that narration and jumped right over for more!
