I loved the first two books in this series and gave them both 5 star ratings. I fully expected that would be the case for this one as well, but alas, although I enjoyed this one, there were a few things that I did not love.
Firstly, I felt like there were more than a few questionable choices being made by the heroes. Mainly because I was suspicious of some key characters right from the start. (Correctly, I might add.)
Secondly, for most of this, I sadly didn't much care for Adam. He was quick to think the worst about Naya (just about every time she said or did anything), acted like a petulant boy when things didn't go his way, and made impulsive decisions in some very dangerous situations.
And lastly, it felt like it took too long for Naya and Adam to even be friendly toward each other. And even when they finally began showing their attraction to one another (which started pretty late in the book, like around the last 30%, or so), those moments felt very ill-timed. Like, how the hell can they be thinking about sex right now?
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this book. A lot! Especially how it finally ended and the epilogue. It just didn't hit me in the heart quite the same way the other books had.

Spoiler
People are being murdered in front of them, their friends are lying "dead" somewhere, and they are in the violent killer's home preparing to assassinate a King, and NOW seems like a good time to get nekkid and nasty? It kinda took something special away from their first time together. As did the fact that Adam had been with so MANY women already, while Naya had been true to the literal man of her dreams, Jarod. A part of her soul remembered Jared, while his seemed to only remember Jared's sense of vengeance.Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this book. A lot! Especially how it finally ended and the epilogue. It just didn't hit me in the heart quite the same way the other books had.
