The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

5.0

This book *chefs kiss*. I have ADHD so I can relate to amazing Stella with her obsessions, avoiding eye contact and bad social cues. And the FACT that she wasn’t written to over come her autism but for those things to be a factor as to why he likes her has completely changed my view of my own ADHD. I used to think because of my adhd I have to settle for someone but here is Stella with the most amazing guy. It shows that these things are apart of us and they make us different but certainly not less than. The characters are lovable and deep and three dimensional. The perfect cliches and it’s resemblance to pretty woman amazes me. There are so many love stories in the world and cliches get used again and again because they are good. What makes the cliche live again is when you put different people in the same scenario. This book not only contained a woman with autism but had accurate POC. I’m in love. And the author is an autistic woman of color breaking down ableist stereotypes and barriers. This book is revolutionary and I will stan it till the day I die.

(Also starring a male who is not toxic and who is kind and takes care of his family!!!! A big yes from me!!)
