The beginning was riveting. The rest of the book was great as well, but I felt that the ending was too big a cliff-hanger (a little anticlimactic).
There's too much suspense around and not enough information around Will's character. It draws you in, but without enough explanation, you can get frustrated.

That said, some readers might be disturbed by the demonic elements, and the fact that the Nephilim are descended from angels (even more so that warlocks are part demon).

It also might be strange for some readers that the Bible is a heavy influence in this book's plot (angels, God, demons, etc), but the book's worldview is a patchwork of beliefs. The characters quote and reference the Bible, even reverently, but it seems that it is just one of many valuable religious texts.

The story had great potential, but unfortunately, I believe that the second went too far. You may not want to read this book if you are uncomfortable with the content in the second.
