Dearly Despised
by Alessandra Hazard
Wow, I think this was the first Alessandra hazard books I didn't enjoy... I didn't feel a connection to the characters or even between them. Samir was like a fish without a spine, most of the books he didn't think for himself, he just did what his mother told him to do. All the pining, sexual chemistry, needy goodness that Alessandra used to write in her previous books was lacking. The book felt rushed, I read all of her books, and even when the books were short I always felt a feeling of contentment, this didn't leave me with that feeling. The background story was generic and repetitive, Ms. Hazard seemed to go round and round in circles with going anywhere. I would have loved to see the tour they did across the country, maybe seeing War warming to Samir during their "forced" road trip together... But we only had a glimpse of sexy times during their trip... I heard that the author was having a major block writing this book, I speak for myself and myself alone but I would rather wait 2 more years and have a better War book (love the character in the other books) than feeling that a great character was wasted.
