This thrilling second book added even more depth and dimension to these characters. Each of them is finding their way in the world and often finding what it means to stand alone in their missions. The fierceness and passion of each character is highlighted through their choices. Their characterization felt unwavering and true. Radu and Lada feel dimensional and complicated while remaining human and fallible. This book is well crafted and sprinkled deliciously with true friendships, sexual pleasure for women, violence against rapists, actually moral greyness, and ✨gayness✨ (all great things lol).
