Really struggled to forget the movie! This is probably the only time I can ever sincerely say do not watch the movie first.
The movie (new one) isn’t bad, but it’s a lot different. What ended up happening was I was expecting a and b to happen and I got A and B which screwed with my head.
I liked that it was done through both actual narrative and posthumous investigations. It took a little while for me to get used to but it was cool.
The end made me sadder in this version than the movie did.
I like Chris and Billy far better in the book than the movie (not as people, I just liked their character more).
I definitely want to sit on this book for a few months (probably longer) and then return to it at a later date.
