Bloodthirsty by Flynn Meaney
5.0
Bloodthirsty is a coming of age story that captures high school life perfectly - the teachers, the cliques, the thousands of insecurities. It’s an incredibly perceptive and intelligent book that any age can relate to - from the teens that are going through the hell that is high school, to the adults that have those days where they feel like that lost and insecure 16-year-old. We can all connect with at least one of the brilliant characters in this book.
On top of a unique story, the tone of the novel was perfect, instead of taking some angsty and moody route, the author made it laid back and wickedly clever. The writing is so witty and hilarious that Joss Whedon himself would be jealous of Meaney’s skills. The jokes are flawless, not forced, with just the right dose of pop culture. I was laughing SO much as I read this.
This is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone.
