I HAD SUCH A FUN TIME READING THIS
I am a huge Disney head, so when I saw this in my library I was definitely curious! I also had a moment where I thought "well what if it's bad" and I was surprised by how good this is. We all know the little mermaid is an AMAZING Disney movie, however while Prince Eric isn't as flat as the earlier Disney princes, he still is very underdeveloped as a character. Seeing a story from his point of view was so fun and interesting, we got to learn about his kingdom and their politics, his friends, his family, how he feels about being future king etc. My two favorite parts were
1. When the book described the ship wreck that lead to Ariel saving him, yes I know this scene hundreds of times so I know exactly what happens, but it was actually really intense reading it and seeing it in my mind
2. When Vanessa(Ursula) put the hypnotizing spell on him. Hearing how involuntary it was and how it took over his mind and dulled his emotions was so cool to me
If you like Disney and love the little mermaid u might enjoy this one I sure did
