In Memoriam by Alice Winn
5.0

Paired a gross and unflinching description of the horrors of war with a painful exploration of Henry and Ellwood's love. The slow unravelling of their relationship in the first act gripped me and I liked how it ultimately played out when they finally met each other. It felt unbearably tragic at times because I felt all too prepared for the shoe to drop (felt a song of achilles esque fear that one of them was just about to die)-- reread the book without the tension and absorbed way more and loved it even more.
