This book amazed me. I went into it expecting a cute story of a magical pawn shop, which rapidly progressed into a deep, astounding novel. The adventures take the reader quickly through a series of places in the magical world of the main character, building a realm of wonder and beauty that is ruled by fate and duty. The juxtaposition is amplified as the plot deepens. The scenes and characters become the back drop for heavy topics - fate vs choice, love vs duty, tbr structures of society, the value of freedom.
None of these become to heavy on the plot, but truly become a mind blowing, gorgeous entanglement that is a wonder to behold. This novel is the beauty of a spider’s web.
I only wish I  could give it higher than 5 stars, this may be the best novel I’ve read this year. I will be eagerly searching out the author’s other works, once I’ve finished savoring and reflecting on this one.
