The Housemaid by Freida McFadden

4.0

4.5 stars. i enjoyed this from its peaceful beginnings to the shocking conclusion. what started off as a simple story about a wealthy family hiring help turned into a complex, thrilling story. most of it is from the perspective of the housemaid (millie), which was full of surprises and was a very interesting person to read from. but, it’s once you hear the perspective of the matriarch of the family (nina) that the book takes a crazy turn that i didn’t expect and the book is difficult to put down from that point. i will definitely be reading the next book in this series too.

trigger warnings: domestic violence, child abuse, attempted suicide etc
