Reread edit: Okay in hindsight the uh prose is laid on a little thick and fanfic style which can be a bit much but gay Twilight but for werewolves still got my crybaby ass tearing up multiple times.

So... all this time there's been Twilight but gay and for werewolves AND it's a slow burn friends to lovers with an age gap and a found family but I had to find that out for myself? Okay.

I hesitate to call this a romance since it's way more than that but this is one of those beautiful and at times problematic romances that the straights get in droves but MLM so rarely get a full length version of. Both of our leading men are very different but real and Klune really said himbo rights when it comes to Ox. There's also some genuinely heartbreaking moments alongside some comical nonsense. What I'm saying is Wolfsong is a journey.

This book is long and when I say the burn is slow I mean you're going to have to wait for hundreds of pages before you even get a whiff of a smooch. If you're impatient that's going to be tedious. There's also kind of a big age gap. It doesn't read particularly creepy to me but if you're more sensitive to that then go for it.

All in all Wolfsong is one of the very few books I haven't been able to stop thinking about and I'm excited to read the rest of the series.
