Hidden Girl: The True Story of a Modern-Day Child Slave by Shyima Hall

1.0

It's really hard to say, but I hated this book. To me, it really wasn't well written. Yes, it's sad, and I know she doesn't speak English, but to me, instead of an actually book telling a horrifying tale of being a slave, it felt like some stream of conscious writing that left a lot of gaps and there were several tangents that she went on that made no point to the story. With that, I would say it was a poorly edited book. There were also several times where I felt like the book could of ended and it didn't, it just want on and the whole part of her captivity felt like it wasn't that big in the book. Like, it took a while to get to that point and it didn't take up that much of the book either. Wasn't impressed at all. Frankly wanted to bash my head in.
