Overall, I enjoyed the author's prose, and I thought the book was off to a great start. However, as the story progressed, it seemed like it lost sight of the main theme (which the author had been executing so well). I felt a lot of disappointment and whiplash in the ending. For now, I'm unsure if I want to finish the trilogy, but I'll give myself some time away from this series and see if I want to come back to it.
