Bride of the Rat God by Barbara Hambly

3.0

A light, entertainingly pulpy fantasy set in 1920s Hollywood, where a British war widow tries to help her movie star sister-in-law from the clutches of an ancient demonic force. The characters were likeable and the Hollywood setting quite evocative, but the pacing is a bit too slow and I clearly do not find Pekingese dogs as intrinsically interesting as does the author.
