Kingdom at the brink of war and a long list Queen is back to reclaim it.
Cassia and Lio have returned with Solia, who is determined to save Tenebra from itself. But they have to navigate the cutthroat politics and find the Gift Collector hiding in their midst, possessing his victims.
This is my favourite book so far, and I only hope Cassia finds a way to reclaim her Lustra magic. I would hate for her to come all this way only to have to sacrifice such an important part of herself in the end.
I am not ashamed to say I cried at the end - full snot tears so I had to stop reading because my eyes were getting blurry.
Now for a theory - the reason the Old Master is so intent on possessing a Silvicultrix (Cassia) is because of her ancestress, the one who fought them so long ago. I posit that she made some sort of a spell that prevents the Old Masters from fully claiming Tenebra and Cordium while her bloodline still has their magic. Also, could this one perhaps be distantly related to Cassia? It's the sort of mind-blowing twist I would love to see from Vela Roth. I look forward to finding out if my theory is correct.
Can't believe this has only just come out, I don't know how long I can wait for the next book to come out.
