I’m always a sucker for widower stories, being married to one. This wasn’t exactly sweet, but more a wistful romance between two 40-something men, about being kind even when you’re hurting. I’ve read other books where the MC can still hear their partner’s voice and I liked that we never really believe that the dead husband was a ghost, just that he knew him so well, he could carry on both sides of the conversation. Another late in the game winner for holiday reading.
