This graphic novel is a haunted house story with the addition of racism and xenophobia. The spirits that haunt an apartment building feed off of xenophobia and terrorize the multi-ethnic residents. I really liked the concept, but I thought the plot could have been improved if we had stuck with one main character through the whole story instead of switching perspectives. The art was fantastic and really set the mood (I think it honestly carried the story for me). I found the mixing of politics and horror in a graphic novel compelling. The idea of hatred and racism going into a dark parallel plane of existence and feeding others who are moved to harming people made me think of the internet. People join groups on the internet where they feed into each into others hate, intolerance, bigotry, and false information. These groups can lead to violence in the real world which related to the story quite well.
