King and Maxwell by David Baldacci

3.0

This is your basic government type thriller. This is the sixth book of a series, but my first one read. It is not necessary to read the previous books to understand this one. King and Maxwell are former secret service agents that now are detectives. They come across a teenager running away with a gun. The detectives discover that he received a message from his father saying he was alive. His father was supposedly killed in an Afghanistan assignment gone bad. The government is convinced that the father is a rogue agent who went off with the goods. The father spends some time trying to escape Afghanistan and return to his son. There is a lot going on here. It was an enjoyable book. However, not enough to make me read any others from this series.
