Wideacre by Philippa Gregory
2.0
Beatrice seems to have an infinite means of making herself and those around her miserable or worse. Ultimately, the thing that I cannot forgive the character Beatrice for is destroying Wideacre. It utterly defeats the purpose of her scheming. I also hated that she thought herself superior and to Ralph and the villagers of Acre and was willing to starve them. Also, if either she could inherit, she did not reject Ralph because he was not quality, or so many other instances would have made the course of the book less terrible.
