This was sooo good! I had good expectations of this book before I picked it up and my expectations were met! I’ve never picked up a Ruta Sepetys book before, and people have said that her books are good, this is one of them for me.
You know, there was much I learned about 1989 Romania that I would never learn in school. I never knew that Nixon was the first US president to visit a communist country. I didn’t even know that Romania used to be a communist country until I read this book.
This book had its dark moments, but that’s history. There’s a lot bad stuff that comes out of it. Even when something becomes successful in history.
With the fast pacing and short chapters, it was done in a way where nothing felt rushed.
I really enjoyed this book, and will recommend it to anyone who may be interested in starting a historical fiction or a Ruta Sepetys book.
