Hollow City by Ransom Riggs

5.0

Usually sequels aren't better than the first, but in this case I definitely liked the sequel better since there is more action, mystery and romance. So far, I like all the characters (not yet sure about Enoch though) and I really love the plot. I did get teary eyed a few times, especially when the group got to London of 1940. I think Riggs really grasped the fear that children had during WW2, when they were being sent to God knows where and some stayed behind for whatever reasons. I'm hoping the third book will be even better since I'm expecting that's when the peculiar war will begin.
