I didn't even realize this was the follow-up of the other Jenny Colgan book I read last year around Christmas, The Christmas Bookshop. I was happy to come back to the characters that I am familiar with and to be in this world of bookshops in Edinburgh at such a wonderful time of the year. Although I think it's a cute little Christmassy book, Carmen’s character was slightly annoying for me in this book. Also, I needed more time with both Carmen and Oke to see how their relationship develops, but the story kind of dragged on till the end, and I was impatient about it. Misunderstanding and miscommunication are not tropes I like in books and movies, but anyway, despite all that, it was still a nice time. If only I could exchange my life with Carmen’s and work in a bookshop in such a magical town during Christmas aah.
