This was a great sequel! The only reason it's not a full 5 stars it because it took me a while to get into but that's on me for waiting so long to pick it up after reading the first book...

I really enjoyed the plot and feel like it's a lot more better explained and developed than in the original series! The pacing was great too and there was a good amount of action which I really liked. The back and forth between Sera and Nyktos was so entertaining and they have the best dynamic. I still love Sera so much as well! She's such a strong female character in a way that's not forced or cheesy and she genuinely just wants to do the right thing. Nyktos is also still everything - he's so caring and kind despite being so powerful and dangerous. My fave side characters are definitely Nektas and Reaver - I just think they mix things up a lot and are so funny too.

The ending was pretty intense but not as bad as I was expecting cliff hanger wise!
