The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry

5.0

Sweet story. I always felt like he sacrificed more than her, though, because hair grows back but there's no way that he can ever guarantee that he'd be able to earn enough money to buy back the watch (let alone find it again, assuming nobody else were to buy it...). But then again her hair was pretty long, and by the time it got that long again she'd probably have lost some of her looks. So maybe they realy had both sacrificed something irreplaceable. It was sweet, though. I kind of love them both for it. ("it" being their love for each other, which makes them so adorable and selfless). Good stuff. I should re-read this.
