An oftentimes beautiful portrayal of grief that’s purposefully distorted in its sense of time and space. The author provides glimpses of sexual awakening and familial trauma while dealing with the administrative duties of her mother’s ashes. Parts of this were riveting while others seemed too purple and difficult to grasp. The author admits she doesn’t know what she’s writing or trying to achieve, and the book is just that.
