Wise Blood by Flannery O'Connor

Brings to mind the quote "there's no fanatic like a convert". But in this case, Hazel Motes is attempting to convert people away from Jesus and into the Church without Christ. His misadventures along the way provide for the type of humor that only comes along every so often: a deep and darkly funny critique on what we hold sacred and what we cannot let go of. One of my favorite books from late high school that I decided to reread. Very different on the latter try, but still one of my favorites.
