A Murder Is Announced
by Agatha Christie
mysterious
sad

slow-paced

It was an enjoyable mystery (and I loved the small town setting), but I don’t see myself returning to this novel in the future.
Nevertheless, I do truly appreciate when the culprit in these types of stories is someone who actually does 100% deserve to be in jail.
Side note: Leave it to Christie to introduce a super-cute, opposites-attractlesbian couple pair of roommates with their own two distinct and vibrant personalities, both living their absolute best cottagecore lives raising chickens together in their quaint little house (#goals), valiantly taking it upon themselves to be the only members in the town actively trying to solve the murders happening around them (sorry Miss Marple), only for one of them to get killed off right as she commits the crime of being the first to figure it all out …. Call that suffering from success, I guess? Sigh!
