This just wasn’t for me.
The comparison to gossip girl and get out is what made me read this book. I was a big fan of gossip girl when i was a teenager so this seemed interesting.

But i was disappointed.

This book has such a thrilling premise. It deals with racism and inequality in schools. It had a lot of potential and i loved the message it was delivering.

The writing felt flat to me. The first 50% felt super slow and i just couldn’t connect with any of the characters. It felt too YA for me then i realized that this one was marketed as mystery/Thriller. The plot was so predictable and it didn’t shock me or anything. I kept thinking of dnf-ing it.

I think the message in this book is so powerful but the execution was poor.
