Tell Me How You Hate Me by Cali Melle

5.0

I’m obsessed with this book

"You are so fucking perfect, I hate it.”
^ Me to this book

The chokehold this book has on me is worrisome, but I’m okay with it. Like where do I even begin???

Leo and Aria have become two of my favorite characters. Yeah, I say that a lot, but I mean it. Thank you Cali for bringing back figure skating books in my life. I didn’t know how badly I needed this. Their chemistry was off the charts.

“I could stare at you forever.”
A smile dances across my lips as I take a step toward him. “You don’t like me, Leo.”
“I don’t have to like you to admit that you’re fucking gorgeous.”

Leo Wells… well, well, well. This man is easily a great example of boy obsessed. The way he’d do anything for Aria and was so mesmerized by her has me squealing. She could roll down a window and this man would be convinced she’s done the best next thing. And I love that!!! Every character has their flaws and he had a lot, but he worked on it. That’s something I admired about his character. He was willing to put his pride aside when need be and talk about his faults. Like go Leo!!

It’s the bare minimum, but men groveling>>>

"Do you always watch people?" No, just you.

As for Aria, oh gosh I love her. Driven characters who know they are talented win me over easily. I love how she wasn’t shy about who she was or what she could do. She’s one of the best figure skaters in the world, so what was I expecting? However, like Leo I loved how she could own up to her mistakes too. She was willing to work and fix it all.

That’s what made both characters so perfect, they were willing to work on things that needed to be corrected. Also, can we talk about the prologue. Cali really said hold my drink, I’m about to cook.

Leo is the golden retriever to Aria’s black cat in the best way. Also, men who have cats are automatically a green flag.

The lilt of her laughter dances across my eardrums and I want to memorize the sound and store it there forever.

I think this book is engraved in my brain. Like, how can I explain how perfect this was without spoiling it?!? Anyways, please read this. I love it so much, and suddenly wished I was a figure skater too.

I didn't want to skate against Aria. I wanted to skate with her. I was just too stubborn and too fucking hardheaded to see it at first.

Thank you Valentine PR for the arc, I never knew how madly I’d become when I requested this book. I’m obsessed

"You're something else, you know."
I flash a grin at her, this time a genuine one laced with amusement. "I'm well aware. I have a tendency to get what I want."
"What is it that you want?" she questions me.
“I want you”
