It was going to be a 3.5 star rating but Chapter 29 really made me happy so I bumped it up!
The found family in this book is fantastic! This family is exactly what Cecily (FMC) needed. I listened to this one on Libby and the audio was fine. It is a duet which is nice, I just envisioned Austin sounding more like Aaron Shedlock. Austin runs Wells Ranch and he is GRUMPY!!! Very rarely do I love the FMC more than the MMC but in this case I did. Cecily is in a bad marriage and finally the abuse got too far and she left him. She had met a friend who had a job waiting for her when she was ready to get out of that situation. On the way to the ranch Cecily meets Austin and he helps her out. Once she get to the ranch and realizes Austin is the guy who runs the ranch it got super interesting. Austin is such a grouch but you already know he will quickly become soft for Cecily. He is so protective of her and he calls her "darlin" which just melts my heart. I don't think this book needed as many steamy scenes as it had. I say that because I don't like listening to them on audio and it just got to be too much. I don't think they were badly done, I just get annoyed haha All in all this book was good!
