For some reason, I didn't love this one as much as I've loved the others. Which is odd because a lot happened in this one, versus the quiet background stories we usually get. I still enjoyed the story and we got some sweet, sweet Jack & Alexis time in this one that I adored. But it's not my favorite of the series.
After five books, I think I've finally decided that Kade is my quiet favorite in all of this. He's so incredibly patient and the voice of reason so often without being patronizing to the other characters. I love how he's made himself the tailor of the school and helps everyone else out, rather selflessly. We see Cora again, which I also enjoyed and Sumi is back in the action which I'm so glad for.
This one had a rather sad ending, but you can kind of see it coming from a mile away. It's still a pretty emotional moment.
I definitely recommend reading the first, second and third books for this one to make any sense at all. I think this one breaks the mold of being able to pick up anywhere like the other stories have been. This one is definitely a continuation of other stories that you will be pretty lost without having read first.
