I loved reading this one from the perspective of Maverick Starr's father and his teenage years in the gang, getting a kid and then another kid at 17 trying to provide for them both. I loved this story and how raw and real it was. Maverick was one of my favorite characters in the first book so this one was great to read. I just hope that we at one point get that midquel that tells us what happened when he went to prison when Starr was little.
