This book was different than my usual reads and I really enjoyed it. I loved the plot line with a hint of mystery but coupled with adventure, self discovery and a look into one's past it was entertaining but heartwarming. It follows the story of Katy who after the loss of her mother is left reeling. The grief of losing her mother but also her best friend has Katy questioning whether she should go on the planned mother-daughter trip they were supposed to go on. Katy ultimately decides to travel to Positano, the magical town where Carol spent the summer right before she met Katy’s father. As Katy steps foot on the Amalfi Coast, it's as if her mother is there with her and Katy soon feels like she's coming back to life and then as if she's dreaming Carol (her mother) is there in front of her. Over the course of the summer, Katy gets to know Carol, not as her mother, but as the young woman before her. This book was stunning with detail and the plot line. It really played at the heartstrings and was truly a beautiful story between a mother and daughter.
