Cleopatra and Frankenstein is about the struggles of being in a relationship, but it also addresses issues of addiction, drug use, and gender identity. I did not relate to the characters in the novel or support many of their decisions. It is hard for me to enjoy a book where I do not like the characters and cannot root for them. I did appreciate the author giving us chapters that centered around different characters to give other perspectives. I do wish we got more from Santiago and Zoe because they were my two favorite characters.
