Not really what I expected, though I did find this audio book interesting. I thought that it was going to be the story on which the recent movie was based. However, this short book, only 2 CDs, was partly the newspaper article (and how it came about) that inspired the movie, along with parts about making the movie and black movie history and each president under which the butler served. Although, I now know that the movie doesn't really follow Eugene Allen's story, I would like to see the movie.
April 2019 - I didn't realize that I had already listened to The Butler until I came to add it to Goodreads. (I am not sure if that it good or bad!) I did enjoy listening to it again; so much is still so relevant five years later. I still haven't seen the movie and I still want to watch it.
