Hm. this book was mind blowing in a lot of ways. This book reflects on how the patriarchal system has been deeply rooted in us that we are so blind to see it isn’t normal.

Baba segi can be seen an insecure patriarch but ignorance is the death of a nation. He tries to love his wives equally forgetting that it is almost impossible to control a polygamous home.

Bolanle is educated but yet chose to get married to an uneducated misogynist. Although she has problems of her own, she is the fourth wife of baba segi and his savior.

She opens a lot of doors that has held secrets as old as time. The book is wholesome & I can go days and days talking about it but I have to stop.

I also admire Lola’s writing and how she delved into the personal lives of all the characters. It’s wholesome.

This is a good read!
