A modern-day Romeo and Juliet style Romance between two Kosher bakeries, sign me up! As someone who lives with chronic pain, I felt very seen in this book! The struggle to be taken seriously by doctors and the endless cycle of trying and failing to feel better was so real! I loved that she brought a focus on medical marijuana. It is something that helps me when my pain flairs and I feel like the stigma surrounding it is still so dicy. I enjoyed Ethan as the main hero. His passion for his siblings and for helping Avital was so precious. I loved the focus on Jewish joy but sometimes it felt forced. Never have I ever compared a butt to challah buns and the audio narrator often mispronounced Yiddish words which took me out of it.
