I don't actually know why I read this- I don't usually read books like this. The plot itself was very dark, rough, yet intriguing; it was addictive watching the characters unravel each other's darkness and finding the light from it. However, the writing style was a bit hit or miss for me. At times, the author had me in the palm of her hand, but then there would be overused phrases and repetitive words (the author loves the word ‘shunt’ for some reason) and clichés that made reading the book less enjoyable. Also I wish the ending was more dramatic. But overall, I liked the story!
