This book was a literary journey that really delved deep into the profound and often heavy themes of both life and trauma. Her unique approach to storytelling gripped and walked me through these weighty subjects, and made them more approachable. Her words took on a journal-like poetry format, and seemed to mature as the story went on, making it both realistic and heartbreaking.

She wrote with such vivid and sensory-rich imagery. I could feel, taste, and smell the world she describes, truly immersed me in her vivid world. The exploration of life, LIFE, real life; pregnancy, and death, was - is, cathartic.

This really shook me emotionally it’s such a dark and beautiful exploration of life’s complexities, enhanced by its deep connection to Indigenous traditions and the power of poetic storytelling.
