Desperation
by Stephen King
Eh, not my favorite of his. The setup is good, starting with "creepy desert cop" going into "unearthing ancient evil from a mine shaft." All the creepy parts of this novel are super well done. But more time is spent on faith and religion, which is not normal for King, and I don't think it really works. Had the premise gone in a different direction, this could have been a great one. We'll see if The Regulators is any better.
