Trust the Plan is an incredibly important book to read to gain some understanding of QAnon and more importantly how conspiracy theories are spreading and infecting the public with an alternate world. Despite this book being published in 2023, it remains relevant and could benefit from an update in 2025.
I discovered this book in a New York Times interview of its author about ten days ago and instantly knew I needed to read it. I was aware of some of the basic QAnon beliefs and was shocked to learn how the movement picks up steam by letting its followers pick their “facts” and “outcomes” like all debts will be forgiven on your loans after the Storm or the government has the cure to all cancers and is keeping it secret until Trump holds military tribunals for Democrats or Hollywood types like Tom Hanks or Oprah Winfrey and publicly executes those people. QAnon divides families and extracts money from its flock under the promise of a future utopia that looks surprisingly more like Bernie Sanders inspired world.
4.5 stars. This is well written and the rating is more based on the criticality of an informed public.
